Assistant Town Attorney
Town of East Hampton - Assistant Town Attorney. The annual salary is $85,000-$105,000, for a 40-hour work week and is commensurate with experience.

It’s a great place to live, work, and stay connected to nature.
Duties
The employee in this position will assist the Town Attorney in providing legal counsel to the Supervisor, Town Board and other Town Departments and Boards. In addition, the position will require the following duties:
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, at an annual salary of $85,000-$105,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include paid vacation and sick time, enrollment in the New York State and Local Retirement system, and health care and dental and vision coverage.
Possession of a New York State license to practice law before the Bar of the State of New York is required. Governmental/municipal experience is a plus.

Duties
The employee in this position will assist the Town Attorney in providing legal counsel to the Supervisor, Town Board and other Town Departments and Boards. In addition, the position will require the following duties:
- Drafting legislation, resolutions, contracts, agreements, leases, and licenses for the Town Attorney’s approval
- Reviewing documents prepared by other agencies and affiliated parties, and interacting with various other agencies on a wide variety of matters
- Representing the Town in litigation
- Performing legal research on a variety of issues, including but not limited to municipal law, contracts, civil litigation, property and land use issue
- Responding to FOIL requests and issues related to Open Meetings Law
