The Town of East Hartford is seeking an exceptional team player to join our team as a Research Analyst. In this role, under general supervision, you'll gather data and translate complex findings into written reports. You will review and analyze information from multiple data sources and provide detailed records of the compiled data.  In this role, you will:

  • Perform statistical research and analysis, compiling and interpreting statistics.

  • Research and present findings related to law enforcement activities.

  • Generate reports, maps, charts, graphs, and other visual aids.

  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously, using good judgment to prioritize work assignments.

  • Present research findings clearly and concisely to all levels of sworn personnel using various media.

  • Prepare clear, concise, accurate, and persuasive proposals, reports, correspondence, analytical studies, and other written materials.

  • Establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with sworn personnel, managers, elected and appointed officials, staff, and the community.

  • Be a part of our team and contribute to meaningful, data-driven insights in support of our law enforcement efforts.

. The ideal candidate will:

  • Join our team and contribute to meaningful, data-driven insights in support of our law enforcement efforts.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in computer science, mathematics/statistics or a closely related field and two years of increasingly responsible crime data analysis and research experience.

 

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, research, or a closely related field, or experience in military intelligence analysis preferred.

 

  • A combination of accredited college coursework in computer science or a closely related field and training and experience in analysis and research and/or military intelligence may be considered as a substitute for the general qualifications.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Work is performed in an office environment generally Monday through Friday day hours.  Hours and days off may be adjusted according to departmental needs.  Attendance at meetings may be required.

Salary : $65,808 - $79,983
