Circulation Library Assistant
Union: UPSEU Clerical, Full Time (37.5 hours/week)
Hourly Range: Grade A: $18.3727-$24.1041
Position Summary:
Essential Job Functions
- Provide courteous and efficient circulation services to all library users.
- Assist patrons in locating library materials and in the use of all library services.
- Prepare library for opening and closing.
- Process library items including newly cataloged materials and deletions.
- Coordinate Home Delivery Service.
- Process magazines
- Register new borrowers and updates patron records.
- Place holds on items using integrated library system software, such as EverGreen and Commonwealth Catalog.
- Processes reserved materials and system-wide holds requests; processes delivered materials, completes paperwork and notifies patrons.
- Process and send out notices for overdue materials in a timely manner.
- Reconcile payments owed by patrons and balances daily deposit.
- Process donated materials.
- Sort and re-shelve materials.
- Make basic repairs to materials.
- Update publicity/promotional flyers on a regular basis.
- Perform other similar or related duties as required or assigned by the Library Director or a department supervisor.
