General Description:
Position is responsible for everyday operational tasks at Aquatic Centers under the supervision and direction of the Aquatics Director. Work related activities would include all facets of recreational programming and service delivery.
Primary Essential Functions:

- Provides overall supervision of programs, services, facilities and personnel
- Assumes responsibility for facility operations in the absence of the aquatic director
- Maintains aquatic facility providing the highest attention to safety for participants and employees
- Maintains minimum number of staff in-service hours required by department and meets minimum standards for internal performance and risk management audits
- Provides and coordinates proper on deck supervision of staff, appropriate levels of lifeguard coverage, lifeguard attentiveness, proper lifeguard rotations, facility inspections and closing facility when required by health and safety guidelines
- Maintains and operates aquatic facility providing the highest attention to water quality and balance
- Cleans and restocks of restroom facilities
- Responsible for opening, closing and securing facility, answering phones and communication with the public
- Maintains clean facility, grounds, deck, filter and chemical rooms
- Lifeguards and scans assigned zone of protection, rule enforcement, proper rotation
- Provides safety assistance, rescues, emergency actions and first aid when necessary
- Monitors participants and users of the facility
- Reports immediately any hazardous conditions to supervisor including inability to properly scan zone due to weather or other conditions
- Provides for the supervision and safe operation of all aquatic programs
- Teaches and assists with swim lessons, swim team and other programs and special events at Pine Knoll
Education and Experience:
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- One-year supervisory experience preferred
- YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard certification
