We are seeking highly motivated and organized Recreation Site Coordinator(s) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of specific recreation sites, ensuring that participants and visitors have a safe and enjoyable experience. Under the direct supervision of the Recreation Supervisor and the general supervision of the Recreation Director/Assistant Director, responsible for the organization, direction and implementation of recreation programs at specific program sites as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Report regularly to the Recreation Supervisor.
- Responsible for supervising all volunteers and participants.
- Maintains records and accident reports.
- Provides skill instruction as necessary.
- Directs volunteers, parents/guardians and participants to the correct field/court.
- Manage the operations of the recreation site, including opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure that all staff, participants and visitors are following site policies, procedures, rules and regulations established by the Parks & Recreation Department.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and addressing concerns
- Implement and evaluate age- and ability-specific programs and activities to enhance the participant experience
- Maintain accurate inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Maintain a safe and orderly program area; report any damage to equipment of facility.
- Ensure that all safety protocols are followed, including emergency procedures and first aid.
Requirements
- Ability to work well with various age groups ranging from children to adults.
- Ability to recognize the recreation needs of specific age groups and abilities.
- Knowledge of and ability to participate in simple activities, games and drills.
- Ability to supervise the work of volunteers.
- Ability to follow a program schedule.
- Ability to enforce regulations firmly, tactfully and impartially.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relations with staff, parents and participants.
- Ability to recognize potential emergencies and to take necessary steps or preventative action.
- Ability to work in indoor (volleyball/basketball, etc.) or in outdoor (soccer. lacrosse, t-ball, etc.) conditions with occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to employ common sense and understanding in dealing with issues.
- Must occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
