What are the responsibilities and job description for the Police Chief position at Town of Enfield?
POLICE CHIEF – Enfield Population ~2536. Located in Historic Southern Halifax
County. The Police Chief will ensure the department is staffed, equipped and trained to
prevent and suppress crime. Responsible for planning, organizing & directing all police
operations. Must possess excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication &
- management skills. Must have knowledge of laws, ordinances and legal processes;
Should also have strong skills in employee & community relations & knowledge of
have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Prefer
bachelor’s degree in police science / criminal justice / public admin or related field and
several years of experience in a Police Managerial Role. Must be certified by the NC
Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards. Must be able to operate a computer
terminal and work with data and figures.
