Manages the daily operation of the Restorative Justice program within the Police department and serves as the Executive Director for the Estes Valley Restorative Justice Partnership, a 501c3, non-profit Board. Engages in grant writing and management, fundraising, public education and program development. Recruits, trains, retains and manages volunteers for the various programs; supervises the Restorative Justice Program Coordinator. - Oversees the Restorative Justice Programs including Community Group Conferences, Community Circles, Community Mediation, Conflict Resolution Services, Community Conversations, and School Based Programs.
- Oversees Case management to ensure that case intake, review, assignment and completion are dealt with in a timely fashion.
- Facilitates restorative processes involving challenging dynamics.
- Supervises Restorative Justice Program Coordinator.
- Recruits, trains, schedules and monitors program volunteers.
- Serves as the Executive Director for the Estes Valley Restorative Justice Partnership, a 501c3, non-profit board.
- Monitors, reports on, and prepares the budget for the Restorative Justice 501c3 non-profit organization; approves spending; receives and processes payments.
- Compiles and manages program data for evaluation and reporting purposes.
- Oversees the mental health screening process, reviews scoring and makes further mental health referrals as needed.
- Writes and manages grants including quarterly reporting, management of funds, and other activities as required.
- Conducts public presentations to promote the programs and principles of restorative justice within the community, Estes Park Police department, and Estes Valley Restorative Justice Partnership.
- Works and collaborates with various other entities such as Municipal Court, the District Attorney’s Office, Department of Corrections, Department of Human Services, Estes Park School District, Estes Valley Library, and numerous non-profit groups within the Estes Valley.
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with Public Safety and other Town staff, volunteers, Restorative Justice 501c3 board members, and partnering agencies.
- Organizes and oversees fundraising events that benefit the 501c3.
- Works on program enhancement and new program development opportunities.
- Oversees the Restorative Justice website, social media and database.
- Keeps abreast of trends in restorative justice; networks with other programs in the state; participates in statewide events.
- Performs other related work as required or assigned.
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or 120 semester hours/180 quarter hours) in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Psychology or related field.
- Three years of full-time professional experience (or six years part-time or volunteer experience at 20 hours/week or more) in restorative justice, human services, criminal justice or related field.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree
- Experience with grant writing or volunteer management
- Experience with Emergency Management, specifically Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters (VOADs)
- CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid Colorado Drivers License and satisfactory driver history. Out of state candidates have six (6) months to obtain Colorado Drivers License.
- Certified Mediator or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
- Restorative Justice Facilitator or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire
