GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
This position assists with the implementation of library services for the public. Provides excellent service and strong reader advisory service to patrons, including related community partners. Assists in providing effective instruction for the use of library resources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist children, their caregivers and educators with informational questions and book recommendations in person and over the phone.
- Assists patrons with the use of technology on public service desk, on floor, in programs, and during community outreach
- Assists in marketing of library programs, which may include social media and other tools
- Assists with marketing and executing programs under the supervision of the appropriate Library Department Head
- Helps maintain the appearance of the department; checks the shelving of materials and preregisters patrons for programs, collects and maintains program and departmental statistical information
- Assists with programs, events, and collection development
- Assists with inventory
- Continually strive to bolster readers' advisory skills by keeping current with authors, books, genres and reading trends among patron base
- Must be proficient with digital resources including library vendor products for e-books and digital audiobooks, databases, downloading and streaming using current devices to assist patrons in efficiently navigating the digital library
- Performs other related duties as assigned
