What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Assistant (Garner Performing Arts Center) position at Town of Garner?
The Garner Performing Arts Center is seeking motivated individuals who are self-starters, good with people and detail-oriented to work as Event Assistants for Auditorium events and to support administrative and operational activities. Seeking individuals to work nights and weekends for events.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:- Responsible for overseeing events and rentals of the Garner Performing Arts Center, including monitoring event rental and patrons
- Prepares facility for program or event as indicated on the rental contract or as assigned by the Performing Arts Center Supervisor
- Monitors compliance with the rental agreement
- Assists patrons with parking, set up parking lot with sign-a-cades and cones, concession sales, and clean up
- Ensures services, supplies, and equipment are available for the safety and comfort of participants throughout the event
- Follows established procedures at the conclusion of each event, including but not limited to, record attendance and other information in the appropriate manner
- Enforces the rules and regulations of the facility
Some duties will require working outdoors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Applicants must be:
- Able to safely lift 20 lbs. and must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Able to safely reposition tables and chairs, including folding and unfolding tables and chairs and moving them within the facility.
- At least 18 years of age and comfortable working independently and occasionally alone.
- Possess a high school diploma (or equivalent).
- Proficient with operating a multi-line phone system, Microsoft Office, and web-based registration software is required.
- Regularly available to work nights and weekends.
- Current CPR certification or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
Availability to work during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) is a plus.
Prior event and facility management experience is preferred.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:Individual work schedules will vary and may include daytime hours, evenings, weekends and Holiday hours.
A monthly schedule will be completed by the supervisor in advance.
This position may be scheduled for up to 20 hours per week.
