What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Operator position at Town of Georgetown Highway Department?
Job Description:
Operates equipment and performs manual labor for all public works projects including construction and repairing of streets, sidewalks and parking lots, cleaning, repairing, and installing drains, catch basins and culverts and other special projects. Such work may involve brush cutting/chipping, trimming brush, mowing, paving, pothole repair, sign installation, and picking up roadside debris.
Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment and vehicles and notifies supervisor of equipment malfunctions requiring more substantial maintenance.
Assists in the maintenance of town parks and recreation which may involve cutting grass, fixing fences, maintenance of call fields, tennis courts and soccer fields, and preparation of fields. Assist in other departments in support of operations and maintenance activities.
Operates vehicles providing snow removal and sanding as well as municipal parking lots, sidewalks, and schools.
Performs equipment operation and labor duties in accordance with applicable safety regulations.
Responds to after hour emergencies which could include, but are not limited to, snow and ice events, down trees, and flooding.
Requirements:
CDL B with airbrake endorsement
2A Hoisting Engineer License
Ability to lift 50lbs
Pass drug test and physical
Pass a background check
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.59 - $28.32 per hour
