Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Systems Engineer II or III.
The Systems Engineer reports to the IT Infrastructure Manager.
The Systems Engineer II is responsible for supporting and maintaining enterprise systems in the data center, SaaS and Cloud environments, working with staff and stakeholders to develop technology strategies that address current and future needs, and advise management of risks to the Town. This position designs, evaluates, and recommends IT solutions and creates technical documentation. This position installs, configures, and maintains servers (physical/virtual), manages and designs enterprise backup/recovery solutions, and support of various technologies, including Active Directory, Enterprise Storage solutions, Azure and Azure Hybrid Stack, M365 and AWS system services, Microsoft Infrastructure services, Disaster Recovery, VMWare and NSX and IT security monitoring.

This department is currently working in a hybrid environment, with remote work. Modified work privileges are approved at the sole discretion of the department director; as such, the department reserves the right to modify or discontinue modified work arrangements at any point.
Regardless of work location (Remote, On-Site, or Hybrid) Town of Gilbert employees are required to reside in the state of Arizona by hire date.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or closely related field. However, a non-technical degree can be acceptable if complemented with the appropriate certifications and / or experience;
- 5-10 years of Information Technology industry experience;
- 3-5 years of Active Directory/DNS/DHCP/Group policy experience;
- 3-5 years of Backup and Recovery solutions experience;
- 2 years of Enterprise Email Application (Microsoft Exchange).
- Must be able to pass PD background
- Must participate in on call rotation
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Candidates for the Systems Engineer III position must possess:
Salary Range: $92,923.22 - $139,384.83
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or closely related field. However, a non-technical degree can be acceptable if complemented with the appropriate certifications and/or experience;
- Five years of experience in Active Directory/DNS/DHCP/Group Policy;
- Three years of experience in Backup and Recovery Solutions, Virtualization Software;
- Seven years of Information Technology Industry experience;
- Four years of Enterprise Email Application (Microsoft Exchange) experience;
- Knowledge of Information Technology best practices and procedures for safeguarding systems/data including Disaster Recovery;
- Knowledge of Administrating the Microsoft 365 platform;
- Knowledge of VMware NSX, VMware WorkSpace One, AWS, and AZURE;
- Ability to pass a PD background check;
- VMWare VCP Certification Preferred;
- Microsoft MCP Certification Preferred.
