The Traffic Safety Specialist reports to the Assistant Town Traffic Engineer. The primary job duties of this position include:

This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Non-Exempt - eligible for overtime compensation.
This position has been identified as an eligible position for a Hybrid work agreement. Modified work privileges are approved at the sole discretion of the department director; as such, the department reserves the right to modify or discontinue modified work arrangements at any point. Regardless of work location (Remote, On-Site, or Hybrid) Town of Gilbert employees are required to reside in the state of Arizona.

The Traffic Safety Specialist reports to the Assistant Town Traffic Engineer. The primary job duties of this position include:
- Responds to Town's residential traffic related issues and other requests, prioritize according to urgency for completion, investigates problems, notify citizens of the result of traffic study, detailing the study process and reasoning.
- Respond to requests for information and assistance related to traffic control and safety; conduct field reviews; prepare appropriate recommendations; provide information to other departments, divisions, outside agencies and citizens.
- Accepts applications for Neighborhood Traffic Mitigation such as Speed Hump installation and explains towns Speed Hump Policy and process, reviews block party street closures applications.
- Investigate, defines No Parking areas as requested and prepare petitions and orders for installation of signage.
- Send email notifications on major roadway projects to internal and external distribution lists.

- Associates degree or Two-Year Technical Certificate.
- 1 year of specialized or technical training beyond high school in Traffic Engineering.
- 3 years of experience in Traffic Engineering Principals or plan review.
- Pay range for a Traffic Engineering Specialist is $29.38 - $42.60
