The Water Conservation Intern reports to the Water Resources Coordinator. The primary job duties of this position include:
- Support the Water Conservation office in various programs and initiatives.
- Provide assistance and practical solutions to help stakeholders conserve water through:
- Water efficiency programs.
- Water conservation outreach.
- Analyze and map landscapes to match them with efficient watering budgets.
- Assist the Team in analyzing data on water conservation programs to track water savings.
- Participate in on-site field audits to help customers assess water efficiency across homes, buildings, and landscapes.
- Facilitate water conservation education through activities such as:
This is a 19 Hour a Week Part-Time At-Will Position.You are someone who effectively exceeds customer needs by building productive relationships, and taking responsibility for customer satisfaction and loyalty. You actively participate as a member of a team to move the team toward the completion of goals and produce quality outcomes. You are committed to our safety philosophy, and you take great pride in proactively managing time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently while accomplishing objectives and achieving goals beyond what is required.
This is a limited-term internship that will end on 6/30/2026.

- 1 year of specialized or technical training beyond high school in Water Conservation, Environmental Science, or similar area of study.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college working towards Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Sustainability or similar. If you have completed your degree, you may still apply.
- Junior/Senior level college students preferred, but Freshman/Sophomores also encouraged to apply.
- 2 years of experience working in a professional setting.
- 1 year of experience working with the public in customer service, community outreach or similar work.
- Must have experience and comfortability with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Must be comfortable with public-speaking and providing educational presentations and outreach.
- Must be comfortable performing field work, both indoors and outdoors.
- Knowledge of local water resources and desert plants is a plus.
- Google Earth Pro experience preferred but not required.
- Valid Arizona Driver's License is required.
