General Statement of Duties
This is a 10-month, Monday thru Friday, part-time position with hours ranging from 4.75 to 6.25 per day.
Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of food preparation, serving techniques, and food service sanitation procedures.
Demonstrated ability to operate kitchen equipment, including but not limited to, a slicer, mixer, convection oven, range, steam cooker, and serving line equipment.
Demonstrated ability to operate a cash register.
Proven ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
Demonstrated ability to maintain records and reports as required.
Proven ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with other employees, school staff, and students.
Demonstrated ability to perform physical aspects of the position including the ability to lift, stack, bend, and carry up to forty (40) pounds and the ability to stand at an assigned location and work continuously for extended periods of time.
Job Description
Serves food to students and replenishes related food items on the serving line and surrounding areas.
Assumes certain duties of the Cook in their absence.
Assists in receiving and storing food and supplies.
Maintains food usage and production reports. Prepares daily food orders.
Maintains sanitary health standards in regard to cleaning both tables, equipment, dishes, pots, and utensils as well as kitchen, serving, and assigned dining areas.
Operates the Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal and collects money.
Supports Town policies and philosophies.
Performs related work as assigned.
Supplemental Information
All positions may be subject to an interview process. The Town reserves the right to limit the number of qualified candidates who will be invited to participate in the examination, or any part thereof.
All outside candidates will be required to undertake and successfully pass a pre-employment medical examination, which includes a substance abuse test that includes testing for THC (the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana), given at the Town's expense prior to employment if conditionally offered a part time, full time or safety sensitive position.
The Town of Greenwich has implemented a policy of background investigations all full and part time positions prior to hiring as part of the reference checking procedures for outside candidates. The investigation will only be conducted as the last step prior to an offer. Refusal to sign the release form will terminate the candidate's further consideration.
