The BYRAM ARCHIBALD NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER (BANC) after school program is a State Licensed Childcare Center that dedicates itself to the surrounding community by nurturing children in their social and emotional growth and provides them with an opportunity to explore the world through play, education and interaction with other children. The program serves 90 children ages 5-12 years old in grades Kindergarten through Third grade who reside in the Byram community and who attend New Lebanon Elementary School.
Education and Experience:High School diploma; plus some experience working with school-aged children in a childcare or other related setting such as school, camp or after school program. Bilingual (Spanish) language skills preferred.
Must be at least 18 years old and pass background check.
Must be available to work during program hours: Monday-Friday from - 2:00pm-6:00pm.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children.
Demonstrated knowledge of child development theories and practices and social, educational and recreational activities.
Demonstrated ability to adhere to the Office of Early Childhood and State of CT Childcare Statutes and Regulations.
Proven ability to communicate in a respectful and courteous manner.

Reports to: Youth Program Administrator
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides child-care and supervision to school age children.
Assists Program Administrator and Program Coordinator with planning and coordinating program responsibilities.
Assists with communicating with parents/families regarding program matters.
Adheres to and enforces all BANC and State of CT Office of Early Childhood Childcare Licensing policies and procedures.
Communicates daily with the Program Administrator, Program Coordinator, staff and parents/families regarding any concerns or issues.
Maintains accurate documentation of all BANC records in accordance with the Office of Early Childhood.
Provides front office coverage when needed.
Assists Counselors with the daily operations and ensures that the staff to student ratios are maintained.
Attend in-service trainings and other trainings as required by the Office of Early Childhood.
Supports Town’s policies and philosophies.
Performs other related work as assigned.All positions may be subject to an interview process. The Town reserves the right to limit the number of qualified candidates who will be invited to participate in the recruitment, or any part thereof.
All outside candidates will be required to undertake and successfully pass a pre-employment medical examination, which includes a substance abuse test that includes testing for THC (the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana), given at the Town's expense prior to employment if conditionally offered a part time, full time or safety sensitive position.
The Town of Greenwich has implemented a policy of background investigations all full and part time positions prior to hiring as part of the reference checking procedures for outside candidates. Salary : $17 - $21
