The Town of Harrisburg is accepting applications for Seasonal Splash Pad and Concessions Attendants who will perform a variety of responsible public contact and duties relating to the operation and management of the splash pad and concession stand at Town of Harrisburg parks as well as assist with other parks and recreation functions.
An employee in this class performs a high degree of public contact and duties to support the operations of the splash pad and concession stand. Position will require the ability to work at both locations. Work includes operating a full-service concession stand as well as acting as the splash pad attendant, depending on the individual’s schedule. The individual will have a high level of interaction with the public. This position requires an individual to have customer service skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to prepare the area for day-to-day operations.
The individual will be responsible for food preparations, accurate counting and balancing of all transactions and assisting the supervisor with inventory controls. Position requires a basic knowledge of food and beverage, basic math ability to accurately count and handle money and basic food preparation. The individual will be responsible for greeting the public and answering questions in a friendly manner. The position requires an individual to respond to inquiries from employees, customers and others, and refers, when necessary, to appropriate staff. Position requires the ability to follow directions and effectively perform the work. The employee is expected to have knowledge of the departmental operations, policies, and its services to respond to inquiries and perform the daily functions; non-routine questions or situations are referred to supervisor staff. Specific oral and/or written instructions are available to apply to most work situations.
Work is performed in indoor & outdoor conditions including all weather and includes exposure to extreme temperatures, dusts, fumes and odors. Work hours will vary and requires weekend and evening work as well. Must be 16 years of age or older. CPR certification preferred and the ability to achieve First Aid and CPR certification after hire is required. Must be able to obtain food safety certification. Must have a reliable way to get to and from work.
