WHAT WE NEED:
The Town of Harrisburg currently has an employment opportunity in our Finance Department for a Customer Service Supervisor. This is a great opportunity for someone who is up for the challenge of a busy customer service operation. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of supervisory experience, as well as fiscal and administrative work in support of utility and general customer service functions. The Customer Service Supervisor is responsible for managing and directing the activities of utility billing and collections, customer accounts maintenance, handling customer inquiries relating to utility and general Town services, work orders and passport processing. Work includes setting up new customer accounts and closing out customer accounts; trouble-shooting billing problems; managing general ledger postings regarding utility revenues, etc. Work also includes handling difficult customer issues, preparing and evaluating statistical trends, modernizing processes, and training and providing performance development of staff. Work involves heavy public contact functions and coordination with other departments within the Town organizational structure. Work requires paraprofessional accounting knowledge and skills, strong supervisory skills and considerable tact and courtesy in the public contact functions. Position requires an energetic and detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational and oral and written skills.
DESIREABLE CANDIDATE:
We are looking for an individual with considerable supervisory experience in customer service and utility billing/collections administration. A four-year degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Ability to become and remain a certified Passport Agent required. Must be a Notary Public or be willing to obtain and must have a valid NC Driver’s License.

The salary range is $53,030 - $65,963 and starting salary will be dependent on qualifications and prior experience. Will also be eligible for a $3,500 sign-on bonus upon hire.
