The Town of Hope Mills Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for Scorekeeper positions. These positions are seasonal, part-time, and are not benefit eligible. This is a fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure environment, during sporting events. May have exposure to to varying weather conditions and loud noise from crowds.
Physical Demands

This position requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, with irregular hours including evenings and weekends, often working in various weather conditions depending on the sport and venue, and demanding excellent attention to detail to accurately record scores and game statistics.

- Assist with pre-game and post-game maintenance
- Operate scoreboard
- Track necessary statistics and score in scorebook
- Report scores, unacceptable behavior, ejections, and repair information to appropriate official
- Other related duties as assigned
- Must be available evenings and weekends
- Must pass background and drug screening
Knowledge of:
- Rules of the assigned league
- Keeping a scorebook and operating a scoreboard and game clock
Ability to:
- Read & Write
- Communicate positively and effectively with the public, coaches, and officials.
- Ensure line-up sheets are received prior to game
- Assist Gym/Field Supervisor with associated tasks, as needed
