What are the responsibilities and job description for the Park Monitor (Part-Time) position at Town of Huntersville?
Performs semiskilled work opening, closing, and monitoring facility operations; ensuring safety and cleanliness of facilities and equipment, and related work as required. Work is performed under limited supervision including nights, weekends, and holidays. Hours may vary seasonally and based on the athletic calendar.The following duties are those considered most essential to the position. This does not preclude the delegation of other duties considered as necessary by management to successfully complete an assignment or project. Opens and closes parks and facilities; unlocks and locks bathroom doors, gates and concessions.
High school diploma or GED or a combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, abilities, and skills to complete the essential functions and job responsibilities of this position.
Possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the State of North Carolina. Availability for 8-hour shifts during required schedule of Monday–Friday from 5:00pm–10:00pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 6:00am–10:000pm (Nov–Feb) or 6:00am–11:00pm (Mar–Oct). Occasional later hours may be requested due to tournament requirements.This position’s physical requirements involve heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects, including the human body. Additionally, the following physical abilities may be required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, manual dexterity, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and/or walking.
Work frequently requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions and occasionally requires exposure to extreme cold (non-weather), exposure to extreme heat (non-weather) and exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment. Work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office with computer printers, light traffic).

- Promotes good relations with citizens using the parks and recreation facilities.
- Ensures that facilities and surrounding areas are clean and ready for use.
- Ensures that all bathrooms are stocked, sanitary, and clean.
- Ensures compliance with park rules and regulations, assisting individuals and groups using parks, and ensuring safety and security of parks and patrons.
- Sets up facilities and equipment for use and special events and restores to original set up after use.
- Turns facilities lights on and off.
- Maintains various attendance information as required.
- Assists with field preparation, dragging and lining and temporary fencing setup and take down.
- Consults with Park Operations Manager and/or Lead Park Operations Technician when any issues arise.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
