START Bus: Commuter Transit Operator for Star Valley Service

The Town of Jackson is now accepting applications for a full-time, year-round, 40-hr/wk, fully benefitted position of START Transit Operator for the Star Valley, WY commuter service, $26 - $32/hr DOQ.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in serving the public and providing peace of mind and security to community members and community businesses that rely on public transit for their livelihood. START is seeking a motivated individual to transport commuters from the Star Valley, WY area to Jackson, Wyoming through the Snake River Canyon. The current service is Monday through Friday with the exact departure and return time determined by the Transit Operations Manager. The route for this service originates in Star Valley with the bus kept in Star Valley overnight. Residency for this position is required in Star Valley either at the time of application or prior to the effective date of employment.

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License, and experience carrying passengers. Successful applicants must possess or have the ability to obtain PASS Certification and Air Brake endorsement.

Shift differential pay for Snake River Canyon driving of $1.50/hr as well as a Report Stipend per day for scheduled work in Jackson on non-commuter service days.

This position has full benefits offered by the Town of Jackson. The Town of Jackson offers a benefit package that currently includes health, vision and dental insurance, retirement benefits, HSA contribution match and $1000 annual deferred comp match, and Paid Time Off (PTO) which covers holidays, vacation and sick leave.
