This position starts out attending POST academy for a semester this fall. After you pass the academy and become POST certified you will enter our mini-academy and receive more training to become a professional Police Officer.

The Town of Johnstown provides generous benefits including vacation, holiday, sick time, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plan contributions, and health savings accounts. Specific requirements are stated in the Employee Handbook and Benefits Booklet.
Cadet starting rate: $30.40/hr
Police Officer starting rate (after POST academy): $38.00
Expected start date: August 21, 2025
