What You'll Be Doing

This professional-level position is responsible for administering employee benefits as part of the Town’s Human Resources Department. This position provides advanced technical expertise in benefits administration and conducts other Human Resources related work, as required.

This position is open until filled with the first review of applications beginning on March 14, 2025.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources management, public administration, business management or a related field; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional human resources and benefits administration experience including working within a benefits administration system and/or ERP software.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to independently exercise good professional judgement.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to handle confidential material in strict confidence.
  • Master’s Degree in human resources management, public administration, business management or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional human resources experience, including benefits administration.
  • Experience in local or state government.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience with using or administering any of the following: Laserfiche, Tyler ERP, NeoGov, learning management systems, benefits administration systems, and/or Virginia Retirement System (VRS) benefits.
  • PSHRA-CP or SCP, SHRM-CP or SCP, PHR or SPHR, CBP, and/or CEBS certification(s).
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
