Department of Public Works Director
Town of Lincoln, Rhode Island
The Town of Lincoln, Rhode Island is now hiring a full-time Department of Public Works Director to oversee the operations of the Public Works Department, including Highway, Engineering, Buildings, Substance Abuse, Parks and Recreation, and Tree Warden Divisions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Assessing the condition of the Town of Lincoln’s infrastructure and making recommendations for improvements as appropriate.
- Ensuring the maintenance and proper working conditions of town roadways, including appropriate lighting, safety, repairs, and upgrades; also oversees snow and ice removal operations.
- Ensuring the maintenance and proper working order of the Town’s sewer system.
- Ensuring the maintenance and proper drainage system of Town roadways, and provides for the cleaning, maintenance and repair of catch basins.
- Providing efficient and effective garbage and recyclable removal operations for the Town.
- Managing capital improvement projects completed by or for the Town, including surveying and mapping, sanitary sewers, storm drains, roads, and certain buildings.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management, public administration, or related field preferred; seven to ten (7-10) years of municipal operations and infrastructure experience with at least three (3) years in a supervisory capacity; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a related field. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Schedule : Monday through Friday, plus availability to manage department-related Town emergencies.
Base salary starting at $97,000, commensurate with experience, plus comprehensive benefits package.
