DEFINITIONDo you have a passion for our town's world-class trails? Looking for a seasonal job that allows you to be outside? If you want to contribute to the growth of the Eastern Sierra's recreation community, join our Trail Crew! The Town of Mammoth Lakes is looking for motivated individuals to lead and direct the trail maintenance crew in the construction, maintenance, and repair in the Mammoth Lakes Trail System. This position will work approximately 40 hours per week for the summer months. Performs signage maintenance, general maintenance, record keeping & upward reporting of completed work. Performs trail work in Spring, Summer and/or Fall conditions including limbing and bucking of trees & installation of signage, kiosks, or markers.SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISEDReceives general supervision from the Outdoor Recreation Manager and direct supervision from the Trails Program Manager. May be designated to supervise Temporary Maintenance Workers I (Trail Crew) as needed.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Duties include, but are not limited to: Perform maintenance and construction on the Mammoth Lakes Trail System.Lead and provide direction to volunteers, fire crews, and small trail crews.Perform general grounds cleaning.Perform signage maintenance and installation.Drive vehicles used to transport materials, tools, and equipment as required.Monitor activities on trails and provide public information.Perform upward reporting on work completed.Perform duties in a responsible manner independent of direct supervision.Perform related duties as assigned.
