General Summary
Under the general supervision of the Department of Public Works and the Director of Parks and Recreation the Seasonal Grounds Crew is responsible for the upkeep of town landscaping and grounds.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally
- Ability to work independently
- Must have a valid Driver’s License; must be 18 years of age to operate town-owned vehicles
- Experience using grounds equipment including mower, string trimmer/edger, chainsaw, leaf blower, aerator, tiller.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Mow, weed, mulch and maintain grounds
- Assist with field maintenance
- Cleaning of grounds including trash collection
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on building and facilities as needed
- Conduct routine, no licenses inspection of facilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance of minor repairs to equipment
- Additional duties may be assigned as required
Working Conditions
- Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds
- Frequent outdoor work in all types of weather
