Job Description
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented individual to support our Youth Services Department in providing exceptional customer service and contributing to various programs and projects for children, teens, and families.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service to patrons of all ages
- Support program planning, promotion, and implementation for children and teens, including storytime, book clubs, and other events
- Contribute to circulation duties, such as checking materials in and out, answering phones, and processing items on-hold for patrons
- Enter records in the online catalog and answer information and readers advisory questions
Essential Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must have:
- An Associate's degree or higher, with at least one year of public library experience providing direct customer service in person, via phone, and/or electronically
- A strong attention to detail and working knowledge of basic library concepts and resources
- The ability to work effectively with children, teens, and their families, as well as possess excellent communication and organizational skills
- A valid MA driver's license (Class D)
- The ability to pass a comprehensive background check
