The Town of Mashpee Department of Natural Resources is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Marine Aquaculture Specialist. This role will involve working in the field to assist with aquaculture and shellfish propagation, while also protecting the local shellfishery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the management of marine aquaculture facilities and equipment
- Conduct water quality monitoring and sampling
- Participate in the protection of the shellfishery through enforcement of regulations and laws
In order to be considered for this position, applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as relevant knowledge of boating, waterway, and shellfish laws. A valid MA driver's license and MA Boating Safety Certification are also required.
This is a seasonal position, typically beginning in late-May and running through early-October, although applications will continue to be accepted throughout the season or until all positions have been filled.
