What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator II position at Town of Middlebury?
This position involves the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant facility and collection system. Work consists of monitoring plant equipment for proper operation and for making operating adjustments. Work also involves performing preventative maintenance, mechanical repairs, and electrical repairs. Work may also extend to performing laboratory analysis necessary to regulate plant operations.
Requires graduation from a standard senior or vocational high school, preferably supplemented by seminars and formal course work in mechanical and electrical operation, and two years of experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant, construction industry, or public works maintenance.
Position requires certification by the Vermont Department of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering as a Grade II DM Operator or ability to obtain same within 2 years of employment.
Pay is dependent on current experience and certification level with a minimum starting rate of $26.99 per hour. Full medical benefits and generous time off policy.
