POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Surfers End Parking Lot Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Beach
REPORTS TO: Deputy Beach Manager or Beach Manager
SUPERVISES: Gate Attendants Located at Surfer’s End and other Lots as needed.
JOB TYPE: Seasonal: May 24 – September 1, 2025
WORK SCHEDULE: Based on department needs of Weekdays, Weekends and Evenings required.
SALARY: In accordance with established pay scale
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Surfers End Parking Lot Supervisor is a seasonal position with the Town of Middletown responsible for patron and vendor parking, revenue collections, and liaison with Police and Emergency Services as needed. This entails checking all vehicles upon their arrival at the lot entrance for a Middletown Beach sticker or daily parking pass. The Lot Supervisor ensures responsible and safe behavior, the absence of drugs and alcoholic beverages, no pets, and reporting any situation beyond his/her control to the appropriate Beach Manager and/or MPD officer as needed. This position also oversees Triangle A and St George’s Lot parking.
I ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Greet all patrons in a professional manner, demonstrating a high level of customer service.
- Project an approachable and professional image in personal appearance, manner, and demeanor.
- Oversees Gate Attendant(GA) staff and works with GAs who are responsible for checking for seasonal passes and selling Daily passes as needed.
- Supervise all vehicle parking and directs cars to parking spots as needed in order to maintain efficient parking, especially on busy fill days.
- Collaborates with all Beach team members on daily operational tasks.
- Assist with beach cleanliness and trash pick-up as needed. All beach employees are required to help keep the beach facilities, parking lots, and beach area clean and litter free. During daily slow periods at the parking lots, Lot Supervisors will use a trash picker and bucket to pick up trash around the gates and in the parking lots as needed. However, trash picking is secondary to other duties.
- Parking Lot Supervisors will work with GAs daily during vehicle entering/exiting lots and instruct GAs as needed in order to maintain a safe and efficient parking operation.
- During opening hours monitor all parked vehicles for seasonal passes and advise non-pass vehicle owners of seasonal passes or daily pass requirement regardless of when they entered the lot.

- Must possess the ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
- Must demonstrate a commitment to the highest quality of customer service.
- Computer skills, including the use of spreadsheet, word processing, and database management applications preferred.
- Familiarity with Town ordinances
III MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
- Required to work week days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
IV PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, use their hands to finger, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms; is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

- Personal computer and peripheral devices, calculator, copy machine, digital camera, telephone, two-way radio, 800 MHz radio, 4-wheel drive motor vehicle, time clock and fax machine.
- Trash picker device as needed.
