TITLE: Revenue Clerk
DEPARTMENT: Beach
REPORTS TO: Revenue Manager, Deputy Beach Manager or Beach Manager
SUPERVISES: None
JOB TYPE: Seasonal: May 24 – September 1, 2025
WORK SCHEDULE: As assigned, based on department needs, weekends and evening required.
SALARY: In accordance with established pay scale
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Revenue Clerk is a seasonal position responsible for collecting, counting, and balancing revenue collected at the gates and from the sale of seasonal beach passes. This position provides support to the Revenue Manager with those tasks associated with collecting fees, recording, and maintaining financial records established under the Town’s accounting protocols and procedures.
I ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. - Collects fees by receiving cash/checks from Gate Attendants for daily & seasonal passes.
- Issues Seasonal Beach Pass stickers and receipts to users and record transactions accordingly.
- Records user transactions on spreadsheet and the financial system and reconciles any variances.
- Ensure deposits are secured in the safe.
- Responsible for correcting any discrepancies.
- Ensures proper accounting of collections and deposits.
- Responsible for creating change pouches for the following day.
- Responsible for securing finances daily.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining database of daily collection activities.
- Assist with beach cleanliness and trash pick-up as needed. All beach employees are required to help keep the beach facilities, parking lots, and beach area clean and litter free.
- Other related duties as assigned.
II MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: The following generally describes the knowledge and ability required to enter the position and/or be learned within a short period of time to successfully perform the assigned duties:
- A thorough knowledge of proper cash handling procedures and practices used in collecting and accounting for the receipt and disbursement of monies is required.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Previous cash handling experience.
- Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to stay focused.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A general knowledge of Sachuest Beach Rules and Town Ordinances
- Must possess considerable speed and accuracy in counting money.
- Must possess the ability to detect irregularities in checks, vouchers, or similar cash items.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Must possess problem-solving skills.
- Must possess the ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
- Must possess the ability to courteously deal with the public and exercise discretion as needed.
- Must successfully complete a background check.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License
