DESCRIPTION: Performs a variety of routine to complex technical work in the plan review and field inspection for all electrical related city and state codes and standards.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Assists Building Inspector in reviewing and approving building construction plans. Overseeing construction work in progress and assisting with contract compliance and work acceptance. Performs field observations and being knowledgeable in all disciplines. Preparing observation reports that document the progress, quality, and safety of construction work and other pertinent construction information. Provides mandatory code inspections for compliance with building codes and inspections for contract compliance. Performs final inspections/Punch lists of Construction projects. Investigates violations and complaints and difficult problems or interpretations with the City Administrator and Building Inspector. Maintains a filing system for complaints, permits, plans and inspections. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: EXPERIENCE: Must have at least five years of field experience as a Certified Master Electrician.
EDUCATION: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATES: Must be able to obtain ICC certifications in commercial/residential Electrical inspection within a 6-month period; Additional certifications may be required.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: As a condition of employment, all potential candidates will be required to submit to a background check, pre-employment drug testing and driving records are required for all new employees.
