The Town of Milton is accepting applications for the part-time position of Building and Grounds Seasonal Groundskeeper. The Building/Grounds Maintenance Department is with the Department of Public Works which is located at 803 White Mountain Hwy, Milton, NH. 03851.
Job Description: Performs a variety of grounds keeping maintenance tasks for all town parks, recreation areas and some cemeteries. This position is responsible for mowing, trimming weeds, raking leaves, mulching, pruning, rubbish removal and sidewalk cleaning.
Accountability: Reports to Public Works Foreman/Public Works Director.
Equipment Used: Hand and power tools; and lawn equipment.
Environment: Inside: 20% Outside: 80%
Duties and Responsibilities:
Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position.
Maintains care of lawns, cemeteries, trees and shrubbery.
Uses hand tools and other machinery which may include, but not be limited to, mowers, brush cutters, chainsaws, weed whackers, etc.
Performs related work as required.

Other Considerations and Requirements:
Work assignments of a repetitive nature, once learned, can be executed under general supervision. Senior department personal to insure accuracy and completeness of assignments may constantly check work.
Work often involved heavy physical exertion in extremes of heat, cold, and wet weather. Candidates must pass a pre-employment physical, background check, valid driver's license, and be able to operate all equipment needed to perform upkeep of town grounds.
Work Schedule:
Monday – Wednesday with Thursday being an alternate day due to weather or scheduling needs of the candidate.
24 – 30 hours a week.
