Job Description: Performs a variety of skilled building and ground maintenance duties.Primarily responsible for the repair and alteration of public buildings and grounds; does related work as required
Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspects building/grounds and prepares ling range maintenance plans.
Obtains repair prices, Selects repairmen if work cannot be handled in house and inspects work upon completion.
Maintains care of lawns, cemeteries, trees and shrubbery.
Plows and sands town parking lots and walkways as needed or upon request.
General carpentry duties as assigned.
Assists in the inspection of buildings and grounds for work to be performed.
Orders parts and supplies through requisitions.
Attaches and removes snow plows and associated equipment from vehicles and assists in plowing snow, salting and sanding operations, or other activities to mitigate conditions caused by extreme weather conditions.
Uses and performs preventive/routine maintenance of hand tools and other machinery which may include, but not be limited to, mowers, brush cutters, chainsaws, weed whackers, etc.
Performs related work as required.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Possession of a valid NH operator’s license.
Other Training, Skills and Experience Requirements:
A working knowledge of building maintenance, repair methods and requirements. Good knowledge of work standards and practices in various building trades. Preventive maintenance programs, ability to plan work, ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications, ability to inspect and evaluate the work done by skilled tradesmen.
At least six months experience performing laboring, grounds or building maintenance work; Or any combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skill and ability.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 - $19.68 per hour
