What are the responsibilities and job description for the PART-TIME THERAPEUTIC RECREATION PROGRAM SPECIALIST ($16.88-$17.50) position at Town of Mooresville?

PLEASE NOTE: Hours are typically 8:00 am-3:00 pm and scheduled during the weekday Monday through Friday up to 20 hours per week.

An employee in this class assists the Recreation Supervisor in the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of a variety of recreation activities. Duties include supervising part-time employees, contract instructors, and/or volunteers engaged in organizing and conducting preschool, youth, teen, adult, and senior programs. Work requires help in managing a facility, scheduling and renting rooms, collecting fees, and leading programs. Extensive public contact is involved. Will work with diverse populations of all ages and abilities and help with Special Olympics Lake Norman. Work is evaluated by observation, review of records and reports, in conferences, and by an appraisal of the general effectiveness of recreation activities.
Minimum of one to three years experience working with youth and/or adults with physical and/or intellectual disabilities in a school, childcare, private sector or other specialty programs setting. High school diploma or GED.

Special Requirements: Possession of a valid North Carolina Driver’s License.

PLEASE NOTE: This is an intermittent position with no benefits

Salary : $17 - $18
