What are the responsibilities and job description for the Events Assistant (Seasonal/Summer) position at Town of Nags Head?
The Town of Nags Head is looking for a part-time / seasonal team member to assist with various Town sponsored events during the summer. Responsibilities include assisting with planning, coordinating, and executing events to ensure they run smoothly. The schedule will vary during the daytime and evenings, depending upon the event. The hours are anticipated to be 10 - 20 hours per week with a start date in May.
- Assist in brainstorming and developing event logistics for Family Fun nights, including theme, décor, activities, and ads on social media.
- Assist with being on-site and overlap for other activities which might include but not limited to Fitness, yoga, movies, and Concerts.
- Manage vendor relations, oversee parking, and ensure safety for guests at the Thursday farmer’s market.
- Coordinate with the internal team to meet all event needs, vendors, and guests.
- Create event post reports and evaluations of the event.
- Works other duties, as assigned.
- Graduation from high school and experience with event management
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in oral and written communications to small and large groups, in-person and by the telephone
- Considerable knowledge of social media including Facebook, Twitter, and web pages
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone
- Ability to gather and compile materials from a variety of sources and give basic information and instructions on programs based on inquires
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, supervisors, municipal officials, and other employees
- Skill in customer service problem-solving and conflict resolution
- Ability to work with others in the management of large projects
- Ability to work independently and understand project priorities
