What are the responsibilities and job description for the Per Diem Housekeeping/Laundry Worker position at Town of Nantucket?
The Town’s nursing facility, Our Island Home, seeks a housekeeping and/or laundry worker.
Requirements: High School degree or GED equivalent. Basic communication skills in English are required. Exceptional customer service skills and basic knowledge of infection control techniques required. Must be able to operate washing machines, dryers and associated equipment. Must have sufficient manual and physical dexterity to bend and reach to complete basic housekeeping and laundry tasks. The position involves standing, sitting and/or walking for the greater portion of the workday. Must be able to lift up to 30lbs. Work is performed in a nursing home facility environment.
Per Diem. Non-Union. $23.50 per hour per ATM Warrant.
Statement of Duties: The Housekeeper/ Laundry Worker creates and maintains a clean, sanitary facility to promote the utmost infection control applicable for residents, visitors and staff. The Employee is required to operate laundry equipment to keep the residents’ clothing, linens and other machine washable items clean, and is required to perform all similar or related duties.
