The Town of Natick is accepting applications for Skilled Laborer in the Department of Public Works Division of Land Facilities and Natural Resources. The candidate we seek must have experience with power equipment like lawn mowers, chippers, sweepers etc.
- Responsible for the maintenance of the Town’s open fields, parks and commons including mowing, trimming, planting, pruning, and snow/ice removal.
- Operate and maintain a variety of vehicles and equipment (e.g., trucks, mowers, chain saws, hand tools, etc.).
- Support landscaping projects.
- Ensure safe working conditions and comply with safety regulations and protocols.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Massachusetts Class D Driver’s License; CDL preferred or ability to obtain within [6 months].
- Three (3) years of experience in construction, landscaping, building maintenance, or related field.
- Experience with power equipment like lawn mowers, chippers, sweepers etc.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, work in all weather conditions, and perform physically demanding labor.
- Familiarity with the operation of light and heavy-duty equipment.
- Strong work ethics and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hoisting license or other relevant certifications.
- Experience with municipal or public works operations.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, carpentry, or basic electrical/plumbing work.

Starting rate
$ 23.8046/hour at Step 1. The full pay scale ranges from $23.8046 - $32.2407 per hour, with step increases outlined in the union agreement.
