The Town of New Windsor is seeking a skilled Water Maintenance Technician to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair water distribution systems, including pipes, pumps, and treatment plants.
- Operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, excavators, and dump trucks.
- Participate in an on-call schedule for 24-hour standby duties to ensure the safety and efficiency of facilities.
- Assist with emergency response situations, including water main breaks and sewer backups.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors to maintain and upgrade water infrastructure.
- Work closely with the Public Works Director to develop and implement maintenance schedules and budgets.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in maintenance and equipment operations.
- 2-year plowing and salting experience with pick-up and mid-size dump truck.
- General knowledge of road and sidewalk maintenance and repair.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of plumbing and public water/sewer system operations experience.
- Knowledge of SCADA systems and computer skills to operate software applications such as Microsoft Office and Excel.
