POSITION: MAINTAINER SNOW SHOVELER
PAY RANGE: $19.50/HOUR
Position Description
This position is responsible for working independently or as a team member under the general supervision of the Grounds Supervisor. Responsible for the de-icing and clearing/shoveling of snow from sidewalks, emergency doors, and fire hydrants in an efficient manner.
Essential Job Functions
- Work closely with the Groundskeepers and plow drivers in the de-icing and clearing/shoveling of snow from sidewalks, emergency doors, or fire hydrants on various town properties.
- Maintain a clean and safe job site, while ensuring current landscape and property is not damaged in the efforts of removing snow.
- Safely use snow removal equipment such as shovels and other equipment required for winter maintenance.
- Safely and appropriately distribute de-icing solutions, including calcium chloride.
- Report any incidents, defects or malfunctions to their supervisor.
- Complete necessary documentation and record keeping.
- Perform general building and facility maintenance as required.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
