Normal Parks & Recreation offers a range of youth gymnastics classes for grades K-6! Teach gymnastics and tumbling to 6-12 year olds at varying skill levels. Apparatuses include balance beam, vault, low barre and tumbling experience on floor.The working season for this position is early June- early August. Monday-Friday mornings 9:00am-12:00pm and Saturday mornings, 10:00am-1:00pm.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Assist with planning daily skills and activities prior to the start of each classAssist evaluating the skill level of each participantTeach participants skills on the balance beam, vault, floor and barreAssist in running a safe and organized classCommunicate effectively with participants, parents/guardians and staff regarding questions and concernsTake daily attendanceAssist with keeping storage areas clean and organizedPerform First Aid or take care of minor injuries as needed
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Availability to work from 9:00am-12:00pm, Monday-Friday mornings and Saturday mornings from 10:00am-1:00pm.Experience working with youth or background in field of Education, Parks & Recreation or another related field Previous personal experience in gymnastics and tumbling is requiredPhysical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods of timeAbility squat/crouch/kneel for extended periods of time when spotting participants Position sometimes required the ability to lift, push and pull at least 25 lbs. Preferred personal enjoyment of gymnastics and/or tumbling
