What are the responsibilities and job description for the SPRING - Youth Soccer Coach position at Town of Normal?
The position will be responsible for supervising/coaching youth in a team setting. Programs typically take place on weeknights and then have games on Saturday mornings. The season will begin the third week of March and end the last week of April.
Programs -
Junior Pee Wee Soccer (Age 3) - Learning Basic Skills and Team Based Play (Wed/Sat)
Pee Wee Soccer (Ages 4-5) - Learning Basic Team Play, Utilizing Soccer Skills such as Dribbling, Passing, Striking, 3v3 games (Mon/Sat, Tues/Sat, Wed/Sat, or Thur/Sat)
Soccer Stars (ages 6-8) - Utilizing all previous skills, fine tuning the basics of soccer, playing 4v4 games (Wed/Sat or Thur/Sat)
Position Begins March 18 - April 27
Approx. 3-5 hours weekly, 4-8 hours for 2 teams coached.
* Opportunities for more hours with further programs-Instructing small groups of children (Ages 4-8)
-Communicating information to parents on a regular basis
-Enforcing program rules
-Care of supplies and equipment
-Coaches Responsible for 1 (45 minute long practice on a weeknight Mon-Thurs between 5-6:30pm) and 1 (50 minute long game on Saturday mornings)-Must have knowledge of the sport of soccer
-Must be able to demonstrate proper techniques to participants
-Must enjoy working with young children
-Must be outgoing and able to lead

Preferred age is 18 years and older. Exceptions can be made for applicants with prior coaching and/or playing experience.
Salary : $15 - $16
