What are the responsibilities and job description for the WINTER - Youth Basketball Official position at Town of Normal?
The position will be responsible for helping conduct the overall flow of the youth basketball program game schedules on Saturday mornings.
Officials will be responsible for helping demonstrate, follow and explain rules throughout the flow of the basketball game.
Officials must maintain order throughout the game and communicate any issues with Site Coordinators and Recreation Supervisors.
Position Begins January 25 - March 8
-Coordinating and communicating with Coaches/Instructors as well Rec Supervisor
-Communicating information and rules to players throughout the games
-Enforcing program/game rules
-Care of supplies and equipment
-Hours: 5-8 weekly
Saturday Mornings 8:45a-3pm (End times vary by # of games)-Must have knowledge of the sport of basketball
-Must be able to communicate with coaches and players
-Must enjoy working with young children
-Must be outgoing and able to lead, stay in constant communication with program supervisor
-IESA/IHSA certification NOT required but prioritized
-NAYS Sports Official Training - MANDATORY COMPLETION - Provided Upon Hiring
Previous Basketball Experience preferred.
Previous Officiating experience preferred.
