What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Sports Summer Camp Coach position at Town of Normal?
Normal Parks & Rec is looking for youth sports coaches to run a PE-style program that has participants entering Pre-K-6th grade. This is a great job for applicants interested in teaching Physical Education.
The program meets on Monday - Thursday mornings from 9am-12pm through the months of June and July with various age levels at each time.
Pee Wee Sports Camp - Mon-Thurs 9a-10a (Ages 3-5)
Normal Parks Sports Stars Camp - Mon/Wed 10a-12pm (Ages 6-8)
All-Star Sports Camp - Tues/Thurs 10a-12pm (Ages 9-11)
Boys and girls will participate in a variety of sports and games such as soccer, basketball, kick ball, capture the flag, summer Olympics, disc golf and so much more. Sports Camp introduces new games, teaches sportsmanship/teamwork and allows participants to make new friends.
Examples of Work Performed:
- Follow weekly practice plans
- Instructing groups of children (Grades Pre K-6) on new games and activities while also ensuring participants have fun.
- Enforcing program rules
- Care of supplies and equipment
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to demonstrate proper techniques to participants
- Must enjoy working with young children
- Must be outgoing and able to lead
