JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising all activities within assigned group. Always maintains safety standards and practices. Follows and enforces town and department policies. Ensures quality customer service to all program participants and the public.

· Check group attendance each morning and throughout the day
· Greets new arrivals and introduces them to other campers; explains camp and facility rules
· Keeps equipment and facilities in good condition and report abnormal conditions to management
· Maintains program documents as required
· Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of equipment and facilities as needed
· Fosters healthy relationships with children, parents, and staff
· Creates positive experiences for program participants
· Supervise and ensure well-being of all campers within assigned group
· Plan, implement, and lead a variety of recreation activities including sports, arts and crafts, enrichment, and more
· Ensure quality customer service through positive interactions with campers, staff, guardians, and the public
· Enforces program, department, and Town rules and regulations
· Always maintains highest level of safety and risk management.
· Responds appropriately to all emergencies and reports all incidents to the Camp/ After School Director and Assistant Director
· Attends staff meetings, trainings, and orientation as needed
· Assist with special events outside of normal working hours as needed
SUPERVISION:
None exercised.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Some high school
· Valid CT driver’s license
· Related experience working with children
· American Red Cross CPR & First Aid certifications or willingness to attain certification
· CDC Heads-Up certification
· Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and skills may be considered

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear clearly and exchange information with other employees, patrons, and the general public. The employee is frequently required to lift, walk, run, sit, and stand for prolonged periods of time; carry, push, and/or pull; employee must be capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the abilities to adjust focus.
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Tasks are regularly performed inside and outside with potential for exposure to adverse conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, fumes and/or poor ventilation, wetness, humidity, rain, sun, snow, temperature and noise extremes, machinery and/or moving vehicles, vibrations, electric currents, animals/wildlife, toxic/poisonous agents, gases or chemicals, oils and other cutting fluids, violence and/or disease, or pathogenic substances
SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Some tasks require manual dexterity, in addition to visual and hearing acuity. Some tasks may involve identifying and distinguishing colors. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally and in writing.
