Under close supervision, transports elderly and disabled residents from homes to scheduled appointments or locations in a safe, timely manner.
- Transports elderly and disabled residents from homes to scheduled appointments or locations in a safe, timely manner.
- Secures wheelchairs or mobility aids, assists passengers entering or exiting a vehicle and escorts to location door.
- Inspects and cleans vehicles prior to and after shifts.
- Completes paperwork of daily routes and documents incidents while on duty.
- Collects, counts, cancels and files coupons for each trip.
- Maintains fuel in vehicle.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written communication.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to use cell phones, tablets and computers.
- Knowledge of customer service techniques and methods.
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn, Town and Department policies and procedures.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Skill in safely operating Town vehicles.
- Ability to organize work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines and follow up on work assignments with minimal supervision.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- A High School diploma or GED.
- Must possess a valid Class D Arizona driver license upon the first day of employment.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor environment.
- Must be able to lift or move over fifty (50) pounds.
- Regular, daily attendance is an essential function for this position.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position is considered a Safety Sensitive position and is subject to Drug and Alcohol testing as required by FTA CFR 49.
