Job Summary
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for assisting in the daily operations and maintenance of a multi-use CAPRA accredited recreation facility.

- Assists with the daily management and leadership of the recreation facility operations, maintenance, administration, and for a variety of recreation services, programs, rentals, and events to achieve goals of the Division within available resources.
- Supervises part-time employees; conducts and oversees hiring, scheduling, employee feedback, performance reviews, staff training and development, discipline/termination, and employee recognition processes for assigned staff.
- Assists with the planning and organization of the recreational venues.
- Collaborates with other divisions, groups, and community members to maximize the usage of facility space in accordance with the Town’s mission and strategic goals; assists with facility and rental scheduling; monitors rentals, internal programming, and events.
- Supports maintence operations to ensure facility venues and building equipment are in proper working order. Maintain safe conditions for patrons and staff and responsible for equipment cleaning and maintenance.
- Ensures guest and program participant satisfaction and retention by assessing and responding to community and visitor needs, addresses customer complaints and concerns.
- Administers effective safety and risk management practices by enforcing Department policies and emergency response plans; assists in the development and evaluation of appropriate safety practices, operating procedures, and training programs; assists with maintaining comprehensive reports associated with asset management, safety inspections, and preventative maintenance.
- Responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of the annual facility maintenance closure at the assigned facility.
- Maintains supplies; provides recommendations on the purchasing of supplies, equipment, and capital improvement projects.
- Serves as the records retention lead at the assigned facility.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, certification and/or licensure required. An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties and meet the necessary employment standards may be considered.
A bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation Management/Administration, or a related field, and one (1) year of work experience in parks, recreation, and community service.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Driver's License issued by the State of Colorado for the type of vehicle or equipment operated; safe driving record and a minimum of two (2) years of driving history.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a CPR and First Aid certification and obtain and maintain an in-house First Responder certification.
Possession of or the ability to obtain the following certification within one (1) year of hire: Certified Parks and Recreation Professional.

Tools & Equipment
Requires frequent use of hand/power tools, cleaning equipment/machines, general office equipment and an automobile.

Environment
Work is frequently performed in a climate-controlled office environment, but employees holding this position may be exposed to extreme cold or heat and wetness/humidity. The noise level is usually high and may range from moderate to extreme. The employee may occasionally work with or around hazardous items or hazardous conditions such as mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, chemicals, or radiant energy.
