Job Summary
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the coordination of all guest service operations at the Town’s aquatics and concession facilities.

- Coordinates and is responsible for the overall organization and management of the seasonal guest services and concessionaire team which includes staffing, scheduling, cash handling, group visits, rentals, inventory, and menu development in conjunction with other staff.
- Supervises employees; conducts and oversees hiring, scheduling, employee feedback, performance reviews, staff training and development, discipline/termination, and employee recognition processes for assigned staff.
- Responsible for the safety, maintenance, and cleanliness of all assigned areas; adheres to federal, state, and local heath regulatory requirements and industry best practices; upholds accreditation standards.
- Organizes and manages the seasonal Discovery Park Ice Trail, Salisbury Concessions, and front of house at H2o’Brien operations in conjunction with other staff.
- Collaborates with other divisions, groups, and community members to maximize the usage of facility space in accordance with the Town’s mission and strategic goals; coordinates facility scheduling, which includes pool rental scheduling, group visits, contracted usage, and the monitoring of rentals and internal programming and events.
- Assists with developing and monitoring the budget for the aquatics division and assigned program areas; ensures efficient and effective use of budgeted funds; performs cost control measures and monitors revenues and expenses in assigned areas for fiscal management to maximize cost recovery.
- Recommends policies and procedures to ensure the standards are evolving with the present time and needs of the department; updates designated personnel/program manuals yearly or as necessary.
- Ensures guest and program participant satisfaction and retention by assessing and responding to community and visitor needs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, certification and/or licensure required. An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties and meet the necessary employment standards may be considered.
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation Management/Administration, or a related field, supplemented by one (1) year of progressively responsible experience in aquatics programming supervision and event management.
Possession of or the ability to obtain the following certifications within one (1) year of hire: Serve Safe, Lifeguarding, Lifeguarding Instructor (LGI), Water Safety Instructor (WSI) or equivalent swim lesson instructor certification, Certified Pool Operator (CPO) and/or Aquatics Facility Operator (AFO), Certified Parks and Recreation Professional and, Aquatics Professional Designation (AQP).
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Driver's License issued by the State of Colorado for the type of vehicle or equipment operated; safe driving record and a minimum of two (2) years of driving history.

- Ability to operate and provide minor repairs on a variety of aquatics facilities equipment and machinery.

Requires close and distance vision acuity and the ability to adjust focus, allowing a broad field of vision. Requires the ability to swim at an effective demonstration and teaching level.
Environment
Work is frequently performed in a climate-controlled office environment, but employees holding this position will be exposed to extreme cold or heat and wetness/humidity. The noise level is usually high and may range from moderate to extreme. The employee will work with or around hazardous items or hazardous conditions such as mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, chemicals, or radiant energy.
