What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Aid (PT) position at Town of Parker?
Under general supervision, this position assists inproviding a safe, educationaland positive learning environment for participants of the State Licensed Large Center Preschool program.Â
Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.Â
Possession of or the ability to obtain CPR, First Aid and AED certifications within thirty (30) days of hire.
The Town of Parker Fieldhouse Large Center Preschool program is licensed and regulated by the Colorado Department of Early Childhood. As a condition of employment, candidates for this position must meet criteria established by Section 7.702.45 (P.50) of the Rules and Regulations for Child Care Centers that provide less than 24-hour care, as they are provided now or amended hereafter.

Physical Demands
Requires regular sitting, standing, walking, talking, handling, feeling or operating objects, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Requires occasionalreaching with hands and arms, climbing and balancing. Requires moderate physical activity with heavy lifting, up to fifty (50) pounds. Requires close and distance vision acuity and the ability to adjust focus, allowing a broad field of vision.Â
Environment
Work is frequently performed in a climate-controlled office environment, but employees holding this position may be exposed to extreme cold or heat and wetness/humidity. The noise level is usually high and may range from moderate to extreme. The employee may occasionally work with or around hazardous items or hazardous conditions such as mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, chemicals, or radiant energy.
Part-time and Seasonal Town of Parker employees have limited access to benefits which include: employee assistance program (EAP), one (1) hour of sick time accrued for every thirty (30) hours worked, and employee plus one (1) other member in your household a membership to the Parker Recreation Center and/or Fieldhouse. - Assists in maintaining a safe, educational and positive learning environment for participants.
- Assists in guiding and supervising program participants through daily activities and lesson plans.
- Assists with the set-up, tear-down, and clean-up of daily activities and programs.
- Complies with all Departmental and Town policies and regulations as well as requirements for licensing by the State of Colorado.
- Assists in the set-up, tear-down, and clean-up of daily activities and programs.
- Assists in inventory management.
- Utilizes effective written and oral communication techniques to communicate with Town of Parker staff, management, and the public in a positive and professional manner. Â
- Performs other related duties as assigned.Â

- Knowledge of the equipment, facilities, operations, and techniques used in operating a licensed child-care facility.

- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Â
- Ability to analyze situations carefully and adopt effective courses of action using problem-solving techniques.

- Ability to complete a minimum of fifteen (15) hours of continuing education/training annually.
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background, including but not limited to CBI/FBI criminal record check, Department of Social Services Central Registry check, and a drug screen.
