POLICE DISPATCHER
Town of Plainville
The Town of Plainville is currently seeing a full-time Police Dispatcher. This position is 40 hour/week with a current starting hourly rate of $25.69 and is represented by AFSCME Local 1303-472 Council #4. The duties include receiving incoming phone and radio calls; dispatch of patrol units, and procedures. Experience desired. Good interpersonal skills. Considerable skill in telephone usage, appropriate language skills and ability to enunciate clearly; general clerical skills including typing and computer skills and the ability to operate computerized office and communication equipment. Ability to learn and strictly adhere to departmental policies and guidelines; ability to think and act quickly in emergency situations using both discretion and sound judgement. Ability to multitask.
Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent. Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of the position. Some experience in working with the public and training in CPR and basic life support systems is desirable. Will be required to satisfactorily complete certified training as required by State statute.
