THE POSITIONThe Town of Prescott Valley is seeking the next Police Lieutenant to positively influence and successfully deliver the Town and Police Department’s Mission, Values, and Goals through critical analysis. The successful candidate will demonstrate a positive and cohesive approach to leadership, a strong work ethic and ability to work through personnel challenges, a focus on employee resilience and health, a demonstrated ability to understand and implement incident command, department policy, and law enforcement tactics. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential duties include: Responsible for fostering a work culture that aligns with the values of the Town and Police Department; provides leadership in the delivery of superior services to Town residents and businesses.Provides professional guidance, training, and policy interpretation for assigned divisions. Assures minimum staffing levels are met; plans, allocates, and monitors time, people, equipment, and other resources to ensure efficient organization and completion of work.Takes command of major operations or emergencies as needed. Evaluates department training needs, staffing needs, budget resources, and management of personnel to achieve department-wide program objectives. Submits requests to the Chief as needed.Supervises, administers, and/or investigates complaints, reports of emergencies and/or requests for service; determines the need for law enforcement action and delivery of police services.Compensation: The Town’s complete compensation package includes salary, benefits, and a high-performance culture.
